Who is Carlos?

     Born and raised in Miami, Carlos Rodriguez is an aggressive and experienced litigator, representing clients in a variety of matters including class actions, securities cases, domestic and international arbitrations, and a wide range of business litigation matters, giving him a vast breadth of experience. Carlos’ work has included everything from pro-bono representation of unaccompanied minors in immigration matters to the representation of investors defrauded out of millions of dollars by Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme and the prosecution of claims by Cuban-Americans whose property in Cuba was used by multi-national corporations. Carlos also has represented clients in matters ranging the pro-bono defense of contractual disputes to the defense of business partners embroiled in a multi-million dollar dispute over the development of a high-rise building and the defense of former bankers sued for hundreds of millions of dollars by the Federal Deposit Insurance Company over the shutdown of three banks in Puerto Rico.     

     Prior to founding Carlos A. Rodriguez Law PLLC, Carlos completed his undergraduate studies at Florida International University, majoring in business administration. During his college career and after graduating, Carlos worked for several years in the the retail, architecture, and life safety fields, where he gained valuable perspective into a wide range of business. Before long, however, Carlos turned his sights to the law, enrolling in the FIU College of Law, where he was a research assistant for Professor Thomas E. Baker, served as vice-president of the mock trial team, and was a certified legal intern at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. He was also awarded a dean’s list commendation every semester and earned “highest grade” awards for Criminal Procedure, Professional Responsibility, Business Organizations, Wills and Trusts, Scientific and Forensic Evidence, Admiralty Law, and First Amendment. He graduated fourth in his class in 2011, earning the magna cum laude distinction. 

     Aside from his focus on his clients and cases, Carlos is committed to giving back to the community, serving as an adjunct professor in the law program at FIU, teaching advanced legal writing, and working on a wide variety of pro-bono cases. Carlos is a life-long and long-suffering fan of the Miami Dolphins, and enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, boating, and his wife and two beautiful children.
